Thursday Night Bets – 8/31/17

In this series, I’ll let you know what I’m betting I would bet if I could. I’ve heard that my Bookie ag didn’t stand for the My Bookie Attorney General, if you know what I mean.

Ohio State at Indiana: OSU -20.5; Ohio State is on the road against a Big Ten opponent to open the season. They earn partial credit for not opening up at home against an NAIA team, but let’s remember who they are playing. The Hoosier State is known for basketball, not football (sorry Notre Dame). Coach M will have the #2 Buckeyes wanting to immediately make their argument to the poll voter they should be #1. The Indiana defense will struggle. Indiana is 2-3 ATS in their last 5 games and 2-5 ATS at home. Meanwhile, Ohio St. 11-1 SU vs. division opponents but only 2-3 ATS in the last five and 2-3 ATS on the road. 20.5 is a huge number for a road favorite to cover, but I am giving the points. Starting off low. OSU for .40 units.

New Mexico State at Arizona State: O 71.5;   Come on, it’s the PAC-12! This game should be fun to watch. The Sun Devils Offense shouldn’t have much against the Aggies Defense. On the other side of the ball, NMSU’s O from the Sun Belt Conference should have some success against…well, a PAC-12 D. The Over is 4-2 when in NMSU away games and 6-3 when they’re underdogs while 4-1 in ASU’s the last 5 and 3-1 when they’re favorites. Still licking my wounds from baseball. o71.5 for .40.

I have some Friday and Saturday picks that I’m looking at and will post those tomorrow.
