9/7-910 NCAAF & NFL Betting Review

For unknown reasons, I went away from picking individual games and went with teasers and parlays with only a few individual plays.

NCAA Football – The weekend started off with my o67 bet being nullified because the Memphis @ UCF game was cancelled. Here’s hoping for the best for the Caribbean, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and all those impacted by Hurricane Irma.

OKLA @ OSU: The game didn’t turn out the way I thought it would with Oklahoma avenging their home loss to Ohio State last year by walking out of The Horseshoe with a convincing 31-16 win. Win u64.5 (+0.91 unit)

UGA @ ND, WF @ BC, IOWA @ ISU: Wake Forest and BC offenses are both awful but Wake almost spoiled the parlay by whipping BC 34-10. Iowa had a battle on their hands with in-state rival, Iowa State. Rivalry games are always hard to bet on. Luckily, Iowa pulled it out in OT 44-41 to earn a tie (-3). My Dawgs played north of the Mason-Dixon Line for the first time since 1965 playing Notre Dame on Saturday night. This was probably one of the most entertaining games of the weekend. Despite the no pet policy at Notre Dame Stadium requiring Uga X to stay back home in Athens, the Bulldogs Defense held ND to 19 points and squeaked out a 20-19. Win 2 team parlay +1.42 units (UGA +8.5, WF/BC u45, Iowa tied -3)

AUB @ CLEM, LOU @ UNC: I expected a low scoring defensive struggle between an SEC team and a team in Clemson who could compete in the SEC. The reigning National Champions held Auburn to 6 points and their offense did just enough to give their home town crowd a game to celebrate their championship (unlike the Patriots), 14-6. Lamar Jackson and the Cardinals walked up Chapel Hill and displayed his Heisman capability, winning 47-35. Win 2 team 6 pt teaser +0.91 unit (AUB/CLEM u59.5, LOU -3.5)

MINN @ OR St, TUL @ NAVY: Coach PJ Fleck has the Golden Gophers rowing the boats after a sluggish win last week against Buffalo. The Gophers went into Corvallis, Oregon and stomped the Beavers in a battle of similar mascots, 48-14. Navy held on for a close win over the Tulane Green Wave in their home opener at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in front of the Brigade of Midshipmen, 23-21. Loss 2 team 6 pt teaser -1.0 unit (MINN +8.5, Navy -5)

NFL – I thought a sure bet was a Pats/Steelers teaser…NOPE! The Pats screwed up that teaser. Loss 2 team 6 pt teaser -2.0 units (Pats -2.5, Steelers -3)

Steelers @ Browns: Mike Timlin isn’t one to run up the score and the Browns gave the Steelers a little bit of a game. Win +0.91 unit (u47)

Seahawks @ Packers: Green Bay has had Seattle’s card since their colossal breakdown in the NFC Championship game a few years ago. That trend continued with a 17-9 victory. Win +0.87 unit (GB – 3)

Colts @ Rams, Steelers @ Browns, Eagles @ Redskins; The Eagles held up their part of the teaser with a strip sack and TD late in the 4th to seal the over, 30-17. The Steelers tied their part of the play as they held on to a 21-18 victory. Jared Goff and new coach Sean McVay showed off their improved offense against an un-Lucky Colts team, 46-9 blowing up the teaser as the Rams almost singlehanded matched the total. Loss 3 team 6.5 pt teaser -1.0 unit (PHIL/WAS +41.5, PIT – 3, IND/LA -48)

Watch out for this weekend’s picks later this week.
